Web 2.0
Web 2.0 refers to new tools and services that allow people to build communities, network and collaborate online. Where traditional (Web 1.0) technology focuses on one-way communication, Web 2.0 is about opening a dialogue and making connections… that’s why these tools can be so powerful for charities and nonprofits.
Web 2.0 tools allow for a richer user experience – the kind that your donors and supporters are looking for. You will find that this is the largest section of the MyCharityConnects website. This is not just because there is a high level of confusion within charities about these tools, but because we feel that charities and nonprofits have much to gain in embracing Web 2.0 tools as a part of their communications strategies.
Some of it looks scary, but we assure you, the opportunities for engaging (lots of new) donors in meaningful ways can far outweigh your hesitations.
